Primary Need: Employment

Description: Helps Ontarians find sustainable employment through assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience. Job search strategies, including resume preparation. Information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities. On-the-job training and/or work experience and, in some cases, additional support to help maintain employment. Information about all Employment Ontario programs and services and access to Second Career program to provide laid-off workers with skills training for high-demand occupations. Information about, and referral to, other community services and supports. We offer a range of resources, supports and service components to respond to the career and employment needs of participants and the skilled labour needs of employers Participants will receive personalized advice and services to help participants assess their skills and experience, find work or start on the path to skills training. All our services are FREE, get access to resource area, tools and information, job searching, resume/cover letter assistance, computer access, newspaper, phone/fax and job postings, placements, supports and incentives Second Career and Apprenticeship application & registration and Interview preparation, mentoring and coaching. Available in English and French self-service information and resources,  Assisted services such as supported job search, job matching and placement, job retention services for people who are unemployed and out of school.  Employers can get help in identifying their human resource skill requirements, matching of position/workplace needs to participants’ skills, capabilities, interests and experience, and support for developing on-the-job training plans and monitoring of placements to support success and retention.

Restrictions: No client restrictions - open to everyone: Newcomers to Canada, and anyone, including people with jobs, those who are under-employed, people looking for work, students, apprentices, internationally trained individuals, employers.
