Essex County Diversion Program
PROGRAM NAME: Youth Outreach Program
Website: http://www.ecyouthdiversion.ca/
Primary Need: Advocacy/Support, Mental Health
Description: The Youth Outreach Program is designed to work as a preventative strategy for youth who are exhibiting at-risk behaviors. Addressed areas of concern are decision making skills, goal setting, communication, teamwork, peer pressure, ‘sexting’, respect, bullying, anger management, drug awareness, stealing and legal consequences. The goal of the Outreach Program is to provide prevention and early intervention services to young males and females who are in need of a diversion. Teens who are engaging in risky behavior can receive education and support to make positive life choices and gain a stronger awareness of the consequences to their actions before it becomes a problem. Our programs will give youth the tools they need to say no to peer pressure, stand up to bullying, gain higher self-worth and make better life choices.
