House of Shalom

PROGRAM NAME:

Website: https://www.houseofshalom.ca

Primary Need: Advocacy/Support

Description: Youth are given the opportunity to share their experiences and express their feelings in a healthy environment built on trust. Topics for discussion are varied and confidential. Meetings are designed to help youth develop the life skills they will need to make positive choices now as well as in adulthood. We also host Grade 8 drop-in nights on Fridays. Youth will develop leadership skills during their time at House and are very civic minded individuals. Often the young people who attend House dedicate a great deal of time to volunteering and graduate with far more volunteer hours than the required 40 hrs.
