Description: Street Help / Unit 7 Homeless Services is a Self-Help organization run primarily by and for persons who are or who have been homeless. Street Help provides outreach street patrol services to the homeless: sleeping bags, back packs, socks, winter clothing, and information on local services for the homeless. Unit 7 provides a drop-in centre: computers, internet, breakfast, hot meals, bottomless coffee & snacks, safe storage of personal items, hygiene products, advocacy, referrals to community services, sleeping bags, back packs, socks, seasonal clothing, and daily food distribution to homeless individuals. Most staff of both services are persons who are or who have been homeless and offer an environment of peer fellowship with full comprehension of the issues homeless people face on a daily basis.
